Royal Wedding Cakes in Kuwait
October 10th, 2008 by SilviaI know the blog posts have been a bit scarce this week, but hopefully the bombardment of celeb gossip and this post will make up for that.
A fellow Beau-coup person sent me an e-mail with these cakes and I just had to share them. Apparently they’re made by a chef named Omar, from the Opera Cafe in Kuwait. So, without further ado, check out these cakes. Aren’t they absolutely stunning? Now I have a whole lot more, but I’ll post the second part on Monday. Happy Friday!

OK - to each their own - excessively elaborate. I did my daughter’s wedding so I am the voice of experience. Check as many local cake people as possible. Listen to their advice as to what is popular. Then customize your cake to your style and your venue. Check various websites/books/magazines as possible and give those pics to your cake person. You will not get an exact duplicate but your cake persons skill, style and interputation. My daughter’s wedding was at a old house that had a lot of wrought iron work. we had scroll work in black on the cake, fresh orchids on the top and randomly on each layer that picked up the green that was her color. it was the best fit for this wedding — enjoy your weddings

I don’t want to spoil anyone’s fun, but I imagine that most of these cakes have fake insides. That allows the servers to serve quickly from the kitchen from another cake, and allows the decorator time to work on the cake without it going bad, or simply falling apart from the weight of the decorations.
That does not diminish the amount of work that had to go in to one of these, hours upon hours I am sure.
