Celebrity Wedding Wednesday
December 24th, 2008 by SilviaTwas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring… except for celebs. Ok my attempt at rhyming failed miserably, but I hope that you all enjoy today’s gossip and check back tomorrow for a special Christmas surprise from Santa (aka me)!
As the opening date of Bride Wars draws nearer, we are seeing a lot more of Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway. I can’t say I mind because I personally love both actresses and am eagerly anticipating this new movie. The two actresses posed for the latest issue of Modern Bride and gave some words of advice to brides-to-be, along with their own experiences with weddings.
- Anne Hathaway’s favorite wedding moment was when her brother got married to his boyfriend a few years ago. She states: “At one point, he and his husband were standing up there, and my mom got up to sing, she was just beaming straight love into them, and everyone felt it, and it was just this really beautiful moment.” Anne also commented that she’s not the kind of girl to dream about her ideal wedding, but that lately she has been putting together her ideal playlist. Her must-haves are “Maps” by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs; “Walken” by Wilco and “You Are the Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne. She says, “That’s going to be, like, the No. 1 wedding song for the next 25 years — trust me!” she says. Although she does say not to play Celine Dion’s “All By Myself” or Donna Summers’ “Last Dance.” In regards to the obsession for the perfect bride body, the actress says that she gave up the quest for perfection a long time ago and for brides to “be happy. Be yourself,” she says. “The day is about a lot more. But if your lifestyle is not as healthy as it should be, and it’s motivation to try something new, maybe that’s for the best. I know Kate would advise everyone to take a pole-dancing class.”
- As far as Kate Hudson, who was married for six years to rocker Chris Robinson, she says that “”No. 1: Make sure you’re ready to get married, that you’re really sure you want to do this, and No. 2, I would say really good placement of the bar! At a wedding you want to have a good time. Have special cocktails that are really fun for people.” She also passes along some advice her own mom, Goldie Hawn, gave her, “At my sister-in-law’s wedding shower, my mom said, ‘I want you guys to look around at each other. At the end of the day, men come and go. Sometimes reality can be difficult, but the girlfriends you are next to allow you to work through the things in your life. Because when trouble happens with boys — which it does — it’s your girlfriends who hold you up.’” Finally, she says that a modern bride is someone who is not afraid to go against the grain of tradition and she says that the best advice for choosing a gown is to have it be comfortable because otherwise it won’t be fun.
- Fergie and Josh Duhamel have set a wedding date! People confirmed that the pair are set to wed on Jan. 10th in LA and that guests will include Kate Hudson and Nicole Kidman. I can’t wait to see those pictures!
- CSI: Miami’s Eva LaRue has set her wedding date! The twice married star had no intentions of re-marrying until she met her fiance Joe Cappuccio. She has not found her wedding dress yet, but she appears on the cover of this month’s InStyle Magazine. The couple plans to wed in June on a Mexican beach. Congratulations to the happy couple!
- KayCee Stroh from the High School Musical movies got engaged as they were filming HSM3. The 24 year old says that “We shot from 6 p.m. until 6 a.m., and Ben was waiting for me in my trailer,” Stroh told PEOPLE at the time. “He was waiting for me with a single red rose. Then he took me up to the H Rock, a place at the top of a little mountain that overlooks Salt Lake City, and we watched the sunrise. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.”
- Earlier this year, Jessica Alba and Cash Warren held a quickie wedding at the LA Courthouse, and they finally got around to holding their reception this weekend. Family and friends were invited for the bash held at their home, and mother and daughter (Honor) wore matching outfits. In true Latino fashion, the couple even had a mariachi band.
- Here’s a blast from the past. Entertainment Weekly has featured the cast of the TV show How I Met Your Mother in a series of pictures to chronicle the best of 2008 and so they have pictures spoofing everything from the Olympics and Indiana Jones to Vice Presidential Debate and the Sex and the City Movie. For the wedding tie in, they decided to capture the wedding scene. You can check out the rest of the pictures here.
