The new year has definitely brought on a lot of celebrity wedding news. We now have some updates on some of the nuptials we talked about last week as well as some new news. Enjoy!

• I’d also love to join the loads of other bloggers in congratulating the ladies over at Southern Weddings Magazine over the launch of their new bridal magazine yesterday. This has been coming for a long time and they have worked very long and hard. It sounds like a fantastic read and well, the cover features one of my favorite weddings of 2008. So if you live in one of the locations that sells it, head on over and pick yourself up a copy!
  
• Also, in non-celebrity wedding news, William Sonoma is hosting a series of bridal events with Anna Post in the coming month. Any bride who registers at the event will receive a complimentary copy of William Sonoma’s Bride & Groom cookbook. You can check out the schedule here.

• Fergie’s upcoming nuptials to Josh Duhamel on Jan. 10 have the singer actively working out. Fergie recently put on 13 lbs for her role in the movie Nine. At her New year’s Eve concert at the Venetian in Las Vegas, she said: “It’s hard, I’ve been working out every day,” To get back in shape, her pre-wedding workout routine includes “a lot of hiking and doing a bunch of sit-ups, working my butt off and just, you know, try to maintain and stay healthy.” It must not be easy trying to lose weight after you purposely had to put it on. I’m sure she’ll look amazing in her wedding dress in any case.



• Gary Oldman who plays Commissioner Jim Gordon in the latest Batman flicks has wed again for the fourth time. The lucky bride was 31 year old Alexandra Edenborough and the nuptials took place in a top secret ceremony in Santa Barbara. Many congratulations to Commissioner Gordon, I mean Gary Oldman!
  
• Alyssa Milano announced her engagement to David Bugliari, although the couple have not set a date yet.
  
• Comedian Craig Ferguson got married (secretly) over the holidays to his long-time girlfriend Megan Wallace Cunningham. The couple got married in Vermont where the Scottish groom wore a kilt.
  
• Here is the official wedding picture for American Idol season 6 contestant Gina Glocksen. Her low key nuptials to Joe Ruzicka took place on New Year’s Eve.



• Bryan Spears also wed on New Year’s accompanied by his famous sisters Jamie-Lynn and Britney Spears and the rest of his family and friends. The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony at New Orleans landmark Latrobe’s on Royal. According to People, “the bride looked stunning in a beige-white Carolina Herrera dress, while the groom sported a smart Marc Jacobs suit.”



• Top Chef’s Nikki Cascone is engaged. Her boyfriend and partner for their restaurant, Brad Grossman, proposed to her over the holidays. According to People, “Cascone was, appropriately, cooking him dinner. “I tied the ring around one of the dogs’ necks and tried to get him to run over to Nikki … but that wasn’t happening … so in the end I told Nikki to go see the dog” The couple plan on having a green wedding in Spring of 2010.
  
• The Biggest Loser’s winner, Michelle Aguilar, announced her engagement to her boyfriend of four months Micah Whitehead. The champ says she is excited about dress shopping and will definitely use some of the prize money from the show to pay for her wedding.
  
• Dancing With the Stars’ Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy also got engaged on New Year’s day. Chmerkovskiy proposed with a Harry Winston ring after 6 months of dating.
