Celebrity Wedding Wednesday
November 26th, 2008 by silviaWell, today’s gossip seems to be all about the celebrity elopements, but since there’s not much about new weddings, I’ll give you some tidbits about couples that are already married and a new movie trailer. Read on. By the way, is anybody else as excited for Thanksgiving as I am? Yum! Have a great weekend all!
- Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt eloped. Yeah, the Hills’ antagonists had a “secret” wedding last Thursday in Mexico and managed to keep it quiet for a good four days before bombarding us with a deluge of information. I’m hating myself for even posting this because I really don’t think that this couple is even serious, but it’s ALL over the celebrity sites and this list simply wouldn’t be complete without the news. They sold the exclusive rights to the wedding to Us Weekly and here are Spencer’s vows: “Heidi, from the moment you came into my life, I knew my life would never be the same without you. You are the light in my life like the sun to the earth! Your loving warmth makes me want to be a better person. Being with you, I feel complete. I’m honored to even be able to call you my wife. You are the most amazing, loving and caring woman on this planet. I will love you forever and always.” Heidi tells Us that she hasn’t even told her mother yet, but that she’s so happy that she couldn’t stop crying after they said their vows. UPDATE: Apparently there has been speculation that this wedding may be a complete publicity stunt. According to marriage laws in Mexico, they require a blood test, a marriage license, and all sorts of stuff to have an internationally recognized marriage. So what do you think, is it a sham or is it real?
- Speaking of celebrity elopements, My Name is Earl star, Jason Lee secretly wed Ceren Alkac, the mother of his second child. This couple managed to keep the secret since their marriage in July! The two also welcomed a daughter in August. Congratulations to the couple!
- In other celeb engagement news, Fergie and Josh Duhamel are planning to spend Thanksgiving at Josh’s family’s house. He spoke to Entertainment Tonight and told them that the couple would be headed to North Dakota for the holiday and that they were in the midst of their wedding planning. According to People, the actor kept wouldn’t give details, but did say that “all going well. It’s all going great. It’s fun actually. We’re both really excited about it and it will be good.” He also said that Canada (of all places) “would actually be a great honeymoon place. I would love to take her here.” Either way, they sound like they’re going to make a great married couple, don’t you think?
- Hugh Jackman was named the Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine! However, when asked what his wife had to say about it, the actor responded, “God bless her, she said, ‘I could’ve told them that years ago!’ And then she said, ‘Obviously, Brad wasn’t available this year.’ And I said, ‘That was a joke, right?’” He also talks a little bit about how he fell in love with his real-life leading lady, “In my early 20s, I didn’t have a regular girlfriend. I was single and really happy about it. And then when I was 26, I met Deb on [the Australian TV show] Correlli. She was my leading lady. It was just undeniable. I started planning to propose to her at about three months. We are happy. Deb and my kids have been the best things that have ever happened to me, without a doubt.” Isn’t he so sweet?
- Also, just because I can’t resist talking more about Hugh Jackman, he says that after winning the title for Sexiest Man Alive, George Clooney called him at 2am! Jackman says, “I was half asleep and I said to him, ‘Ah, George sweetie, good to hear from you.’ ” But alas, Clooney was not calling to congratulate him. Jackman continues, “He goes, “Shut up, Jackman!’ He said ‘I know what you did! You started this big campaign that’s been going on and [you] took the title away from me.’” Haha I love it!
- Finally, have you all heard of the new movie “He’s Just Not That Into You” based on the best-selling book of the same name? Well, it stars Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Connelly, Ben Affleck, Kevin Connelly, Justin Long, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Bradley Cooper. That’s a whole lot of Jennifer’s isn’t it? The trailer looks pretty good AND for the wedding tie-in, you can see a scene where Jennifer Aniston sort of proposes to Ben Affleck.
