I love… wood accents
October 23rd, 2008 by SilviaAfter posting that beautiful wedding in the Loire Valley, I simply must follow it up with a post on wood accents for weddings. As you’ll soon see, I am absolutely fascinated by wooden signs– the more rustic the better!
I think I’ll save the best for last, for now, take a look at these beautiful centerpieces. Those table numbers are absolutely adorable– even down to the little birds! The different herbs are also great ways to name your tables, and those little signs are to die for! Thank you Snippet & Ink for showcasing these lovelies! The wood shavings are also great to surround your centerpiece (like they did on this wedding from Junebug Weddings) or wrap around your flower pots such as the pictures seen on Style Me Pretty and the wheat grass one on Bellissima Vita Weddings. There’s also a lovely one photographed by Travis Hoehne.
Also, check out the DIY instructions to make thit lovely centerpiece on Once Wed.
Aside from centerpieces and signs, there are a few other ways to incorporate wooden details, such as by sending out wooden invitations, like these ones on Oh Joy. You could also hang your escort cards with clothes pins (via Elizabeth Anne Designs) or place your programs inside a wooden crate (via Snippet & Ink), and also, check out this little Scrabble piece (via Classic Bride)– darling! or even with a simple altar, like this couple chose to do, or giving your guests wooden pencils as wedding favors.
Ok, now we can (finally!) take a gander at these adorable, yet very different signs. I’m giddy with glee! I love that first sign by Jose Villa hung on the rocks– it fits in so well with the backdrop. The coat and Blue Dress Farm signs are from the same wedding featured on Once Wed– isn’t it so full of rustic charm? I love that golf cart sign, and that bride looks like she’s having a blast! This bride over at Weddings by Color seemed to be just as obsessed with signs as I am– she made three different ones! The last three signs are courtesy of With This Ring, the Handcrafted Wedding, and The Dazlling Details respectively.
And now, for the piece de resistance! I am completely in love with this sign, and the backdrop, and the couple, and basically everything! Compliments to Tec Petaja for taking such a lovely picture!
