Gift Ideas for the Couple Who Has it All
September 11th, 2008 by SilviaI don’t know about you guys, but I love giving (and receiving) presents. So when I ran across this article by Carrie and Danielle, I nearly jumped for joy. That’s why I’ve decided to treat you with some of my favorite suggestions from the article (of course I had to add in my commentary), as well as some of my own ideas. If you’re looking for the perfect gift to give the couple that has everything on their wedding day or you’re seeking something that breaks the bounds of the registry (and will be loved nonetheless), then read on.
1. Concert tickets. This idea is absolutely genius. Most people like music (or so I would hope), and even if they don’t, Ticketmaster has tickets for all kinds of events, including sporting events, theater productions, operas, and more. Wrap these up in a lovely favor box, and prepare to be loved.
2. A couple’s massage or facial treatment at a spa. Ditto on the genius-ness. After the honeymoon is over, your favorite couple can still take some time for themselves, and what could be more romantic and relaxing than a spa trip?
3. Video-interview people at the reception and turn it into a video keepsake. This idea was one of my favorites as well, it’s sweet, it’s personal, and it’ll be something they will be sure to cherish for years to come.
Now for my own suggestions:
4. An Everyday Adventure. I ran across Xperience Days a few years back, and I have been obsessed with this site ever since. They have the coolest “experiences” available. Everything from taking a hot air balloon ride, flying lessons, and surfing to a romantic boat cruise, cooking lessons, and sailing trips. Need I say more?
5. Name a star. This gift can be a little cheesy, but why not name the star after the couple. How about a moniker like Brangelina or Bennifer to signify the union of these two love-birds?
6. A Honeymoon experience. If you know where the couple is going on their honeymoon and their itinerary, why not purchase something that they can do on their trip. Let the location determine your gift, buy them tickets aboard the London Eye, or a gondola ride in Venice, A zip-lining tour in Costa Rica, or a scuba diving lesson in Australia. As they say, the world is your oyster.
7. Tickets to their favorite amusement park. Let them relive their childhood a little and take a spin on some rollercoasters. This gift will be sure to get their adrenaline going.
8. A Book. If the couple is into books, this one might take a little effort, but it’ll definitely be worth it in the end. Find out what your couples favorite childhood book or books are and give them a first edition copy of each. This same idea can be applied to a favorite musical record. Yeah, vintage!
Many of these suggestions can get a little pricey, but don’t let that deter you. That toaster you could get them instead will only be good for so long, but any of these memorable ideas will stay with them for a long time. If you’re really strapped for cash, a dinner for two at their favorite restaurant will do just fine as well. By the way, if you’re on the receiving end, be sure to “accidentally” send some of your guests over to this post. I’m sure they’ll get the hint.

If you’re into giving a romantic yet unique wedding gift, check out this blanket called the nuddle blanket. It’s really warm and cute and can fit two people in it! I have one and just cuddled up with my boyfriend the other day while we were watching TV and it was soooo cozy. I like it because it’s a gift that’s useful yet it inspires romance — perfect for a new couple.
Could be great for a bridesmaid gift too, if you can afford it. But it is on sale now for 20% off with a coupon code. here’s the site:

I saw a really unique idea where they turn the brides flowers into jewelry. The bracelet was beautiful. My friend received the bracelet from her maid of honor.

For the couple who has everything you have to think of something unusual. I like nice linens that are personalized by having their initials embroidered on them. They are stunningly beautiful! Look at these pictures on line, go to elegantlinensPC com and look under Matouk linens.Even if you have everything you will still appreciate a set of these.

There are really great online gift registries that allow a couple to register for anything they want – honeymoon, home down payment, golf lessons, concert tickets, furniture. From the guests perspective I think these are probably more fun to gift than towels.
