Japanese Wedding Theme
April 6th, 2009 by SilviaBetty from Type A Event Planning recently sent me a gorgeous wedding she planned in Little Tokyo district in Los Angeles and photographed by Henry Chen Photography. The details were absolutely gorgeous and it inspired me to share some ideas on how to plan your own Japanese-inspired wedding! Check out Betty’s blog post and Type A Events Blog to see even more stunning pictures!
Here’s a collage of the bridal details. I love her bouquet!
Cherry blossoms played a large part in the day and were incorporated into the paper lanterns and even the centerpieces.

For some more Japanese details, serve your guests some sushi in pastel cherry blossom dishes with personalized chopsticks to keep. Present the members of your bridal party with some cherry blossom sake gift sets and give your guests some cherry blossom glass coasters. You might also consider giving out some cherry blossom silk hand fans to match the theme.

Speaking of centerpieces, aren’t these flowers in the square vases gorgeous? The photo tree is also a great idea.
This lovely candy buffet is perfect to munch on during the reception, but also for the guests to take home as wedding favors.

For your own candy buffet, consider providing guests with some wedding packaging such as favor boxes or favor bags.

I’ve always been a fan for Japanese food and every once in a while I’ve thought what it’s like to have a Japanese-themed wedding. I’ve always imagined it wearing a kimono but I like Sarah + Hanan’s wedding and how they fused it with a touch of the western culture… Nice post…
