I’ve been in a sunny mood lately, despite the gloomy weather outside, and what is summer without trips to the candy shop? Treat your guests to a wedding reception filled with plenty of games and plenty of candy, and kids (young and old) will never want to leave!

For the attire, dress your bridesmaids in pale pastels or candy stripe patterns. Give your groom and his groomsmen matching ties to go with the theme.Consider giving the littlest members of the bridal party (i.e. the flower girls and ring bearers) a lollipop bouquet or lollipop bout.

Set up various soda bottles with colorful fizzies on various tables and set up plenty of jars with colorful candy for guests to eat at will. Provide plenty of favor bags, take out boxes, or favor boxes for your guests to fill up with candy to take home as wedding favors.

For the decor, tie bright balloons everywhere, pitch some tents, and hang colorful ribbons from trees, poles, the backs of chairs, and anything else you can find! Make some paper poms and old fashioned banners to string up as well. Purchase some personalized wedding napkins that can have a cute quote such as “eat, drink, and be married” to match your theme.

Finally, give your guests plenty to do by heading over to ride the ferris wheel or carousel, or if that’s out of your budget, set up some lawn games like croquet for all to enjoy, table games like checkers, bingo, card games, and of course: Candyland. Finally, be sure to give your guests wedding bubbles for the send-off!
