Yikes Bikes… Making a Great Wedding Getaway!
November 10th, 2008 by SilviaThis week I kind of have bikes on the brain. You’re probably wondering what exactly this has to do with weddings. Well, I’ve always been intrigued by the “getaway” ride. So, I thought I’d do some fun posts on different getaway vehicles, and… wait for it… today will feature bicycles!
To start us off, check out this awesome shot… so romantic!

This looks like so much fun! (via Elizabeth Anne Designs)

Here are a couple more from Elizabeth Anne. Aren’t these lovely?
I know I featured this wedding before, but seriously, how cool was this bride’s picture by Travis Hoehne?

Here’s another vintage-y looking bike shot via Once Wed.

These are some of my favorite pictures by Jose Villa sorry about the barn, but it was part of this particular wedding.

How cute are these invitations from etsy and this ring shot by the quintessential image?
To end this post, I thought I’d leave you with one of my favorite scenes from Wedding Crashers! Gotta love those balloon bicycles!
As I mentioned previously, I’ve been having some issues with uploading pictures, so the blog posts will be on the lighter side this week. Thanks for bearing with me, and I hope that the posts there are make up for it!

Wow this is a great concept for a wedding couple, just hope the bride doesn’t get oil on her dress or even worse get the dress caught in the chain! The couple cycling on the tandem in the town centre look awesome.

Sylvia,
I enjoyed your article on the “getaway ride” : ) I wanted to see if he made the balloon bicycle!! I watched the movie along time ago, but can’t remember…I just might have to watch it again!

Haha, yes, he did end up making the balloon bicycle– to impress Gloria. It was so funny because it was huge! I tried to find a picture of it to include on this comment, but I can’t seem to find one. You should definitely watch the movie again though, it’s seriously one of my favorites. I think I know every line by heart!

Bikes for a wedding? Sounds like a great idea if your in shape but I don’t think my girlfriend would last half a mile. plus she would be tired the rest of the trip.
