I am Japanese American and was looking for ways to incorporate this into my wedding. My planner thought these would be a perfect addition to my cake and she was right! Our wedding was a mixed theme of Japanese/Jewish/Mediterranean to fully reflect our backgrounds! We also scattered gold origami birds throughout our garden and decorated the tables with the cranes and fresh gingko leaves. It made our wedding exceptionally beautiful, especially when we explained the meaning behind the crane (long life and prosperity) and gingko leaves (hope, peace and longevity). Guests also loved the fact that the cranes could be used for chopstick holders or placecard holders. Elegant, affordable and meaningful!
The only negative is that every bird came with an individual scanning sticker which we had to take off. A minor inconvenience but something you'll need to plan for if you're tight on time.

It was a wonderful addition to the double-happiness favour boxes at each place setting at the wedding reception dinner. We ordered personalised ribbons to wrap around the cranes.
