Dog birthday parties are on the rise

Lest you thought dog-lovers would stop coming up with ways to spoil their pooches rotten, a burgeoning trend of canine birthday bashes is taking the nation by storm.

According to Reuters, man's best friend has been kicking it in high style. Celebrations have featured nothing short of balloon-filled apartments, gourmet dog-friendly birthday cakes and hotdog cocktails all the way to lavish extremes, with pet owners booking limousines and high-end restaurants to accommodate their pups and their canine entourages.

"Not only do the dogs love the attention, but their owners also seem to get a lot out of the parties. Some people may appear shy at first, but something about the sheer joy of the event brings them out of their shell," pet-friendly restaurant owner Dorothy Moore told the news source.

If you've been similarly inspired, don't be afraid to go to town with decorations and treats. Furry guests will be all over doggy towel favors, if not predominantly as a chew toy. Include personalized doggy bone mint tins for their human counterparts.
