If you love snowy weather, cozy lodges, a nice, warm fireplace, hot chocolate in your hands and loving friends by your side, a winter-themed wedding at a ski resort may be the perfect place to say "I do."
When choosing a resort, you should keep two things in mind: First, this wedding is all about you and your groom. So pick a location that suits the both of you and tell begrudging family members to dig out their ski apparel ASAP! Second, it's important to remember that some of your out-of-town friends and family may not be able to make the trip if the venue is too far away. You may have to balance the idealness of a resort with the convenience of location.
Before you send out your invitations, you'll want to send out personalized wedding mint tins as your save-the-date cards. Pick a label that complements your wedding colors and be prepared for the glittery glare of the tins to woo your invitees.
And remember, the guest list isn't set in stone until you send out your actual invitations, so you can still add someone onto the list with whom you recently reconnected.
Even if you have a wedding planner, think of things you may want to include at the ceremony. Everyone likes a hot drink in the winter and offering coffee, hot cocoa and personalized tea should warm everyone up, if they aren't already somewhat sweaty from dancing at the reception. In addition, place some mini brownie favor pops next to those hot drinks to give your guests something sweet to nibble on.
You'll most likely be bringing a photographer and the pre-wedding photos will be stunning with the snowy background. But you should give your guests a taste of the past by inserting pictures of you and your groom in glass photo coasters and place them at every table. Tell everyone they can each have one as a souvenir, and they will have a piece of your history for the rest of their lives. But don't forget to take one for yourself!
