If there's anything that gets people more excited than the notion of an open bar, it's the promise of lots of tasty sweets, and according to lauded wedding planner Tara Guerrard, dessert stations are hotter than cocktails on fire when it comes to southern weddings these days.
"Desserts (especially macaroons), candy and sweet stations are a big ticket item right now," Guerrard told The Tennessean. "These can stand alone or in addition to the wedding cake - people are still doing signature drinks and late night junk food. We're also seeing monograms or custom logos still heavily represented."
That being said, you don't have to be from the south to indulge in this idea. Taking time to invest in your desserts can be an easy and impressionable way to give guests a little taste of that first bite of wedding cake, which is arguably the most delicious part of any new couple's affair.
Better yet, don't let guests leave empty-handed - give them something sweet to remember your event by. Offering mini wedding brownie favor pops or personalized two tier mini cakes will leave a delicious aftertaste in everyone's mouth.
