How to walk down the aisle with your four-legged friends

It's important to consider all the special people in your life when composing your wedding guest list - but why stop at just people? For lots of couples, their furry companions are just as deserving of a spot at the altar as the Maid of Honor or Best Man.

That being said, it's not uncommon at all for a dog or cat to carry the ring or even pose in wedding photos with the happily wed pair. If you can't bear to walk the aisle without your dog or cat in tow, here are a few tips on bringing them along.

"First, make sure to have one designated person (someone you trust) to be responsible for your pet throughout the day," advises Deidre Wengen of PhillyBurbs.com. "Second, try to have the pet groomed before your big day so they can look as fancy as you do. And third, don't forget to bring an ample amount of treats. This will help grab your dog's attention when you or someone else is giving commands."

Hopefully it shouldn't get more complicated than that. And what else could be more amazing than having tails wagging at your wedding? Some doggone delicious wedding favors, of course. Doggie bag stuffed animal favors or personalized doggy bone mint tins will be the perfect nod to your canine companion.
