Your little one may not have a fully developed memory at age one, but with the right party tricks, there's a chance he or she will recall a magical first birthday party many years down the line.
Babies and toddlers love attention-grabbing, vibrant hues, so make sure that everything from the decor to the table napkins are bursting with color. Balloons and streamers should be in abundance, as should confetti, flowers and multi-colored candles.
Perhaps the little tyke is barely old enough to indulge in sweets, but your guests and other kids attending the party are sure to appreciate platters of personalized mini cupcakes (decorated with the number 1, of course), brownie pals party favors and mini classic gumball machines. Have them out for the taking at the party or give each guest some to bring home as a birthday party favor.
It'll be fun for guests to review your baby's first year, so including a photo album or scrapbook of baby's firsts wouldn't be a bad idea. Personalized photo magnets and photo rice krispy treats would also make great additions to goody bags.
