Michelle Obama bears gifts and advice to military moms' baby shower

A baby shower held last week in honor of 40 pregnant Marine wives at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina received a very special guest appearance. First Lady Michelle Obama came bearing gifts and two cents' worth of her own advice for the expectant mothers.

"As a new mom, there are just an array of things that run through your head: 'What's this kid going to be like? Will I get my shape back? Will I ever sleep again? What's a onesie? How does it work?'" said Obama, who came laden with said onesies and blankets (all White House-monogrammed, of course) for each pregnant wife.

According to ABC News, Obama arrived along with Second Lady Dr. Jill Biden, and Martha Stewart also dropped in to offer the women a creative scrapbooking lesson (as well as bags full of paper goodies for the craft).

What better way to cherish all of baby's first moments so that their fathers (and anyone else, for that matter) can play catch-up once they're home? Believe it or not, scrapbooking supplies can get expensive, and most new moms who are swamped with other concerns may simply never get around to it. Leave it to Martha to think of the perfect baby shower gift idea - we're sure she thought of everything, down to the baby shower bookmark.
