Two months into 2016 and there are already so many emerging wedding trends to obsess over! We picked our top 5, and we can’t wait to see how these play out for the rest of the year. Check out our 5 favorite 2016 wedding trends (so far) and see if you might bring one of these to life at your wedding!
His & Hers Cocktails
We love the idea of the bride and groom sharing their favorite drinks, or creating drink recipes just for the wedding. Just because you’re now husband and wife, doesn’t mean you have the same taste which is exactly why we think it’s such a great idea to share different flavors. The bride and groom can even create their own look for their drink! Label it on the cocktail menu as His and Hers and you’re good to go.
Small Weddings & Elopements
While big weddings are most definitely fun, there is just something so romantic about a small wedding or elopement. After all, when it comes down to it, the day is all about you and your significant other. As long as you have each other, the day is bound to be perfect! Plus, a smaller wedding allows you to spend more time with any of the few guests, travel to a destination, or spend more money on a honeymoon. Trust us, while we are all for big weddings, we promise you won’t be disappointed with something smaller.
Pantone has called the color, or rather colors, of the year – Rose Quartz and Serenity – and we’re definitely on board with their picks! Pink and blue may sound like a surprising mix, but just look how beautiful they are together! The dusty, muted colors are soft and romantic and mysteriously come together to make the perfect pair.
Naked cakes are not exactly new to 2016, but bakers are taking these dreamy desserts to new heights! We can’t help but admire the simple beauty of these naked cakes. Plus, fresh flowers on cakes never looked prettier. Who would have believed cakes didn’t need frosting?
Sleeved Wedding Gowns
The days of constantly pulling up a strapless dress are gone – short sleeves, long sleeves, all sleeves are in! Not only is this style a bit easier to wear, it’s also a way to show off more lace details, more beading, and more texture. The style can also be just as modest or not-so-modest as you like.
