Now that spring has sprung, your mind may be racing as it thinks about all of the wonderful outdoor activities that await you over the next several months. If you happen to have a child with a birthday coming up why not throw him or her a kite-flying party? It's a great excuse to get out in the sun for a few hours and enjoy a classic activity. Imagine the spectacular view of a whole bunch of kites floating lazily in the air!
The most important thing is that you pick a spot that's fairly open and free of trees, or you could soon end up with a lot of trapped kites. You should be able to find inexpensive kites at a large toy store - if the price is right, consider picking up a few extra, just in case any of your guests wind up accidentally losing theirs.
Bring along great snacks for when the kids eventually tucker themselves out - after all, it can take a lot out of you to run around in a field for a couple of hours. As long as you've got soda, chips and perhaps some small sandwiches, you should be good to go.
Of course, you'll want to make sure there are plenty of great party favors for the kids. Mini classic gumball machines are sure to go over well, as will personalized birthday animal lollipop favors. Kite-flying parties are a classic choice that are sure to please kids and adults alike - as long as the wind is blowing nicely, you should have no problem putting together a fantastic shindig for all who attend.
