What little boy doesn't have a favorite superhero? Whether it's Superman, Batman or Spider Man, many children adore at least one comic book character. Of course, they probably won't be learning to fly anytime soon, but that doesn't mean your little one can't feel like a hero for at least one day a year. If you've been trying to figure out a theme for your young son's birthday party, superheroes may be the way to go. There are plenty of things you can do to make your child's dream a reality for his birthday. Here are a few ideas to help get your thinking on the right track.
Set the stage with some lovely decorations so that every child who walks in feels like he's entered a comic book. Don't be afraid to throw bright splashes of colors wherever you can! Hang round paper lanterns to give the party area a nice ambient glow. Circle designs table decorations have a certain comic book appeal to them, and they look nice enough that you might even use them for your own adult parties from time to time!
As far as activities go, if you're feeling tenacious you can give your guests a taste of the superhero life by setting up a small cardboard box city in your backyard. Hand out plenty of blankets and sheets that the kids can use as capes, and let them go hog wild in their tiny metropolis. It'll keep them busy for a little while, and they'll build up a nice appetite for cake and ice cream in the process.
When it's time to go, hand out bags filled with wonderful goodies. Mini personalized cupcake brownie pops are sure to be a hit - they're a delicious treat that no child should be able to resist. Customized cartoon cookies will allow them to see what their faces would look like in a comic book, up until the moment when they chow down on the delicious treats. When your guests see all of the awesome gifts you've given them, you'll be a hero in your own right!
